The planet is warming!

We can help when we "Garden for the Ecosystem"

Our planet is in trouble...and changing the way we do our gardening can make a difference in two distinct ways!

When we "garden for the ecosystem" we are directly addressing climate change by pulling CO2 out of the atmosphere.

When we garden without pesticides and choose non-polluting, quieter, safer electric lawn equipment (mowers, tillers, leaf blowers, chainsaws) we avoid putting CO2 from fossil fuels into the atmosphere, while at the same time protecting our threatened biodiversity.

Ecological gardening also makes a big difference in  replenishing our troubled soils, by supporting the underground life that is so important in sequestering CO2.

Little by little by gardening for the ecosystem, we are helping to slow the warming of our planet.

We can...

We all need to do whatever we can to limit human-caused climate change.  One big step is to change how we garden - and change the public perception of what good landscaping looks like.  Gardening with the ecosystem in mind can help to slow the warming of this beautiful planet and protect our biodiversity.
