Welcome to Madness, Myth, Mathematics, and Memoir. This book marks the final stage of a mythic arc — the return from a quest that began 57 years ago. I return bearing the boons of that long journey: Occam’s sword, Occam’s chalice, and blueprints for the Grail — a new system of creativity. I offer Camelot College, a vision of academia reimagined; Camelot CAD (STEAM CAD), a new software program; and Camelot Castle (STEAManufacturing), a system to transform mathematical and scientific ideas into physical reality.
The first three parts of this memoir are written in vignettes — snapshots of a life. Individually, they may seem like fragments, but together they form a mosaic of my life in quest. To recover half-forgotten memories, I’ve used creative techniques to reframe and reconstruct them. While some names, times, and places have been changed to protect anonymity, others have been combined into composites for narrative flow or clarity. But all speak their truth.
I am deeply grateful to the mentors, friends, family, and coaches — in sport and in life — who have guided me.
This is a living memoir. I’ve posted it in this form to invite your feedback. I plan to revise and expand it in response to your comments. In this final stage, I envision the memoir as a collaboration — a story we write together.
