damnsight?

The Damnsight story

When I was getting settled in Korea building up a functional home studio (2001-5) I was doing music under my name.

In 2006 I helped form a rock band called Cuttlefish and was doing Rock/Post Rock/eclectic stuff after that and I felt a stage moniker was the way to go so I went with Damn Sight.

Around that time I was sitting around an empty classroom at Dong-eui University and was idly cutting up index cards with my scissor knife and came up with the logo seen on the left, which I used in various colors and on album covers and even put a big one on my wall in spraypainted styrofoam bits.

The Damn Sight logo was born.

original cut out from index card

on stand; backlit to make shadow on wall; traced it

hacked up styrofoam boxes; painted red

glued them to the wall

minds change

So, I used Damn Sight as my stage/artist name for all kinds of projects for years.

By 2021 my style had changed from guitar songs to ambient to pretty abstract and I found myself in a stylistic zone that a zippy DJ-type name did not seem to fit.

So I'm Gordon Bazsali Jr. again.

Some of my album covers and other media still bear witness to my Damn Sight days, and that's fine.

And I'm NOT taking that logo down from the wall until we move someday.
