Connecting HCFM to the Global Holy Cross Family
Father Willy Raymond, C.S.C.
Dear Friends,
At the moment, a feeling of profound gratitude fills my entire being. It has been the honor and privilege of a lifetime to serve as president of Holy Cross Family Ministries. I am grateful to God, the Congregation of Holy Cross, our faithful boards of directors, our skilled executive team, and our tireless team leaders around the globe. Thank you!
Special recognition rightly goes to Father Pinto Paul, C.S.C., architect of this quarterly Global Newsletter, and his team, for assembling the crew that produces it. They scour the globe for news about the many ways HCFM helps families pray.
In closing, allow me to restate the firm conviction that this work helping families pray worldwide is timely, necessary, and among the most valuable apostolic works undertaken anywhere on earth. By God’s grace, Father Peyton’s genius, and our prayer, we have rooted all our efforts in the rich soil of the Congregation of Holy Cross. Mary, Our Lady of Sorrows, stands with us at the foot of the Cross. She also abides with us as Mother of the Church on Pentecost at the Coming of the Holy Spirit. It is this same Spirit who sets our hearts on fire for serving God’s ‘masterpiece,’ the family.
Dedicated, talented, energetic, spiritually grounded Holy Cross sisters, brothers, priests, and laity gladly collaborate in this precious family of ministries. We are one great family ready to unleash the power and promise of family prayer in ever more impactful and innovative ways digitally and in person. God and Holy Cross have sent us help to do this.
It is my pleasure to pass on leadership of Holy Cross Family Ministries to the capable hands of our new president, Father Fred Jenga, C.S.C. God and Holy Cross have blessed us with a leader solidly grounded in the Catholic faith and Holy Cross spirituality. Providentially, he acquired valuable experience early in his priesthood spending seven years as a leader on the frontlines and in administration in Holy Cross Family Ministries East Africa. He has also prepared well for this new work through years of study and reflection, culminating in a Ph.D. in Communications at the University of Texas. I hope you will welcome our new president warmly as he joins us in realizing the truth of Father Peyton’s vision that "The family that prays together stays together."

TIME TO CELEBRATE FATHER WILLY AND HIS GREATEST ACCOMPLISHMENTS – HIS TEAM
Father Willy Raymond, C.S.C., has led Holy Cross Family Ministries as president, for almost eight years with much zeal. He also served for 14 years as National Director of Family Theater Productions, a member ministry of HCFM. During Father Raymond’s tenure the ministry opened seven new global ministry centers, three in India, two in Tanzania, one each in Haiti and Canada as well as the Museum of Family Prayer. Through all its ministries, HCFM promotes happy, healthy, and holy families from 27 ministries centers in 17 countries on 5 continents.
Recently, all the members of the HCFM team from around the world had an opportunity to gather virtually and in-person with Father Willy to express their thanks for his guidance and leadership and to wish him well in his next endeavors. There were special presentations from team members, including the presentation by Elizabeth Ponce of a replica of a plaque that will be placed in the new welcoming area of the Museum of Family Prayer when construction is completed. The space, which will house the remains of Father Peyton for veneration by visitors. Father Pinto Paul, C.S.C., presented a mock-up of the new PPG program book with the dedication to Father Willy honoring his support for this important project.
In addition an event video with messages of thanks and blessings compiled from team members around the world was screened. These heartfelt messages left no doubt about Father Willy’s leadership efforts and her personal appreciation for his team.
“Each member of the HCFM team is important to me. Together we are One Body of Christ and serve to fulfill Father Peyton’s vision that, ‘The family that prays together stays together.’ Our work is vital to families to ensure they are faith-filled, strong, unified, and live lives of purpose, peace and joy that can only come from God,” said Father Willy. “Each day I come to the office to serve with you, whether you work out of the Father Peyton Center in Easton, at home, in Hollywood, or at one of our 27 ministry centers around the world, I do so with great zeal. I hope that is evident to each of you and inspires you in the important role each of you plays in the ministry.”
It is apparent to everyone at HCFM and all our partners that Father Willy has made a difference in HCFM and has well positioned the ministry for future growth.
“There is an appointed time for everything,
and a time for every affair under the heavens.”
Ecclesiastes 3:1
Father Willy, we are grateful for your service and wish you well in the years ahead. God bless.
FATHER FRED JENGA, C.S.C., APPOINTED PRESIDENT OF HOLY CROSS FAMILY MINISTRIES
After an extensive search, Father Fred Jenga, C.S.C, is appointed as the next President of Holy Cross Family Ministries.
Father Jenga, a priest of the Congregation for 17 years, has experience with the ministry. He has served as a corporate member on the board of directors for 5 years. He also served in a pastoral role as Regional Director of the ministry’s offices in East Africa for 7 years where he led the ministry in their digital and in-person mission outreach to enhance the prayer life of families. He built several teams of lay people, teams that have helped the ministry to grow in East Africa. He also creatively educated and helped the members of Holy Cross in East Africa to learn about and embrace the ministry as an important part of the Congregation’s efforts.
The first Peyton Prayer Guild Chapters for children were formed under Father Jenga’s leadership. He developed a program that brought children in schools and parishes together to learn the Rosary, pray for their families and learn about the life of Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C. This program has grown and now has nearly 1,000 children participating.
Father Jenga has multiple degrees in Communications, including San Francisco State University, Makerere University, Kampala, as well as a Bachelor of Theology from the Catholic University of Eastern Africa, Nairobi, and a Bachelor of Philosophy from the Pontifical Urban University in Rome. Father Jenga recently completed a Doctorate in Communication from the University of Texas. He is an active researcher in the area of Communication and Religion; and he has published and presented several papers at academic conferences.
Father Jenga was born in Uganda, where he grew up on the banks of the River Nile and Lake Victoria, in the Ugandan district of Jinja. Father Jenga speaks several languages in addition to English, including his ethnic language, Lusoga, as well as Luganda, Rutooro, Swahili, and Kinyarwanda.
Family ministry does not garner much fanfare, however, as the basic unit of society, this work is vital to ensure families are faith-filled, strong, unified, and live lives of purpose, peace and joy that can only come from God. We know Father Jenga is committed to this mission.
We congratulate Father Fred Jenga, C.S.C., in his new role and extend our support and prayer as he leads this important ministry to serve the contemporary family through their 27 ministries centers in 17 countries on 5 continents.

Christ is Risen! Alleluia! The Easter season is a glorious time to celebrate and live the experience of the Risen Lord in our hearts and homes. It is a season for families to embrace and recommit to their vocations and foster faith within the "Domestic Church."
Father Peyton praying with a family in their home in Costa Rica during the Crusade 1970
On February 11, 1949, Father Peyton spoke at the Wisconsin Catholic Action Convention. In that talk, he described seeing his parents and family members kneeling daily to thank God by praying the Rosary in gratitude for the gifts that he gave them throughout their daily lives. These gifts were never taken for granted. His family never let a day pass without showing their appreciation for the friendship of God and the favors that were bestowed upon them.
“There is something delicious about writing the first words of a story. You never quite know where they’ll take you.” – Beatrix Potter
That is a beautiful statement from a renowned children's author; however, it has been my experience that the first words of a story in the initial stages often get deleted repeatedly until the big inspiring moment happens. Some writers rely on a muse or brainstorming until time sparks a bright idea. I have experimented with those and other ways to stimulate my writer’s soul, perhaps, though the best and most meaningful method is through the nudging of the Holy Spirit.

Family Theater Productions Throws a Party to Celebrate Its 75th Anniversary
Longevity is rare in the entertainment industry, as is continuity. Family Theater Productions recently celebrated both, with a 75th-anniversary party held in the heart of Hollywood that brought together staff, friends, supporters, fans and collaborators to meet, mingle and discuss carrying Father Patrick Peyton’s dream far into the 21st Century.

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Since coming to Holy Cross Family Ministries in the fall of 2007, I have joined people around the world, marking the anniversary of the death of Father Patrick Peyton, C.S.C, each June 3. This year marks a significant milestone, the thirtieth anniversary.
Holy Cross Family Ministries hosted the First Annual Father Peyton Family at the Museum of Family Prayer. It was an event filled with our favorite things—Family, Faith, and Fun!
Peyton William
I was introduced to Father Peyton’s story in 2005, after attending a Father Peyton Prayer Guild chapter meeting, while living in Pittsburgh. I was intrigued by the story of an Irish priest, devoted to the Rosary, coming to America.
How Our Family Lives Turn Extraordinary And Unfold Through The Domestic Church Of Our Lives
In the South Indian city of Chennai, a pair of doting grandparents living in London visited their son’s home to be with their granddaughters in early 2020. Within weeks, the world went into the first COVID-19 lockdown. At this trying time, the grandparents reached into their deep Catholic faith and revived a hallowed family tradition: the Holy Rosary.
Testimonies from around the globe reflect our mission to inspire, promote, and foster the prayer life and spiritual well-being of families throughout the world. We help families pray. Read more for inspiring testimonies.
Dear Jesus,
Father Peyton devoted his priestly life to strengthening the families of the world by calling them to pray together every day, especially the Rosary. His message is as important for us now as it was during his life on earth.
We beg you, therefore, to hasten the day of his beatification, so that Your faithful people everywhere will remember his message that the family that prays together stays together, will imitate him in his devotion to Your Mother and ours, and will be inspired by His holy life to draw ever closer to You with childlike confidence and love.
Amen.
