We are a family of six- Soosai and Maria Saranya, our son Chris Newbin, our daughter Chiara Pearlin, and our beloved in-laws. Prayer, especially the daily rosary, has been the heartbeat of our family life. Again and again, we have seen how God’s hand guides and protects us through it.
After many miscarriages, I (Maria Saranya) had almost lost hope of welcoming another child. Yet for ten long years, I prayed the rosary daily with tears and faith, trusting in the intercession of Our Lady. At last, God blessed us with our daughter, Chiara Pearlin. Even during pregnancy, fear often filled my heart, but the rosary gave me courage and peace. Later, when we grieved the loss of my father, prayer once again became our anchor. In that same season of sorrow, my sister- long searching for work- was unexpectedly blessed with a central government job. Even in grief, God’s providence became clear.
Shared by Soosai: One day, as I carried food to the fields, I felt a strong inner prompting to pray the rosary. For one kilometer, I prayed as I walked. When I arrived, my father and uncle, pale and shaken, told me my father had just been electrocuted while repairing wiring near a well. He felt life slipping away until, suddenly, he was freed. I know it was no coincidence. At that very moment, I was praying the rosary. Through Our Lady’s intercession, God spared my father’s life.
Together, as a family, we continue to gather daily in prayer, certain that “the family that prays together stays together.”

Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM), Province of South India, in collaboration with the Prison Ministry of India (PMI), reached out to inmates of the Central Prison in Bengaluru with Christ’s message of compassion and mercy. On 23 July and 17 September 2025, Catholic prisoners were blessed with the Sacrament of Reconciliation and the Holy Eucharist.
Rev. Fr. Johny, C.S.C., Director of HCFM, presided at the Mass and reminded the faithful that Jesus came not for the righteous but for sinners, calling all to repentance and renewal. Drawing from the Gospel, he emphasized God’s boundless mercy: “The measure you use will in turn be measured out to you.”
Attended by more than 30 inmates, the Eucharistic celebrations became moments of grace and renewal. Through prayer, Marian devotion, and community, the prisoners rediscovered God’s love and hope, witnessing the healing power of forgiveness within confinement.
