“Pilgrims of Hope for Families”
Dear Friends in Christ,
Dear Friends in Christ, At the midway point of the Jubilee Year, it is good to take a moment to pause and reflect on the purpose of this special year, especially in light of Holy Cross Family Ministries’ mission to families. The Jubilee Year is meant to awaken in the hearts of the Christian people an awareness of the living reality of hope.
As a theological virtue, hope links the human person to God. It infuses life with the divine presence, with the reality that God is alive and active in even the most complex and challenging circumstances. It is a virtue rooted in the person of Jesus, whose living, dying, and rising all bore witness to the reality that in God, all good things are possible.
Families today are in great need of hope. With division between family members, the pressures of life in the modern world, and ever-increasing challenges to faith, hope is needed as a firm anchor in the midst of life’s storms. It is needed to heal broken relationships, to soothe our anxieties, and to offer the promise of a better tomorrow. Holy Cross Family Ministries stands committed to walking alongside families in this Jubilee Year of Hope, to strengthen them in faith and prayer, and to remind them of the Lord’s blessed assurance: “Behold, I am making all things new.”
In this edition of the World at Prayer Newsletter, we see that God is indeed making all things new, breathing hope into our lives and our families. These stories bear witness to the great truth captured in the Holy Cross Constitutions: “There is no failure the Lord’s love cannot reverse, no humiliation He cannot exchange for blessing, no anger He cannot dissolve, no routine He cannot transfigure. All is swallowed up in victory” (Constitution 8:118). I pray that these stories will fill you with the hope of the Risen Christ, who has nothing but gifts to offer.
In Christ,
Rev. Fred Jenga, C.S.C.
Dear Friends in Christ,
It is with immense joy and gratitude that I introduce our latest global newsletter: "Pilgrims of Hope for Families." This edition highlights the enduring power of family prayer, and the unwavering hope God pours into our lives.
Pope Francis reminds us that "Pilgrims of Hope" is not just an emotion but a journey. At Holy Cross Family Ministries, we believe families are the heart of this pilgrimage, called to trust in God's promises and ignite miracles through prayer, even when facing obstacles.
This newsletter is filled with inspiring stories from around the world, showcasing how Holy Cross Family Ministries, through your dedication, helps families embrace their role as "Pilgrims of Hope." You'll discover the transformative impact of family prayer, witness how faith restores relationships, and find practical steps to strengthen spiritual life at home.
To our incredible team members: Thank you for your tireless efforts, unwavering faith, and profound love for families. Your dedication brings hope to countless lives, one family, one prayer at a time.
I invite you to explore these stories, be inspired, and join us in prioritizing prayer in your own families. Let us continue to be witnesses of hope, trusting that as Pilgrims of Hope, we will fill the world with God's loving presence.
May God bless you and your families abundantly.
With gratitude and prayers,
Rev. Pinto Paul, C.S.C.
Under the leadership of the Congregation of Holy Cross in Brazil, we are currently in the process of relocating our Brazil Ministry Center from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo.
This transition marks an important step in strengthening both our mission presence and operational capacity in the region.
We kindly ask for your prayers and support as we work toward a smooth and grace-filled move.
May this relocation bring renewed energy, deeper collaboration, and greater fruitfulness for our ministry in Brazil as we continue to serve families through prayer and pastoral outreach.
We are happy to welcome Father Charles McCoy, C.S.C., as Vice President of Holy Cross Family Ministries.
Father Charlie brings a rich blend of academic excellence, pastoral experience, and Holy Cross spirituality to our team in Easton. Before joining us this month, Father Charlie served as a Professor of Mathematics at the University of Portland in Oregon, USA. He was widely respected for his dedication to intellectual formation and his mentoring of students, and we are blessed he will bring his considerable gifts working from Easton, Massachusetts at Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM).
With his strong background in education and his deep commitment to the mission of the Congregation of Holy Cross, Father Charlie is uniquely equipped to help advance the vision of HCFM in meaningful ways.
Please join us in praying for Father Charlie as he begins this new chapter of leadership. May the Holy Family inspire and accompany him as he helps guide our mission with faith, wisdom, and compassion.

🌍 Join us for the Global Rosary for Peace 2025!
In a world longing for healing and unity, let us come together across continents, cultures, and languages to lift our voices in prayer. On this sacred day, families, communities, and individuals will unite in a worldwide chain of the Rosary, asking Our Lady to intercede for peace in our hearts, homes, and nations. Be part of this global movement of faith and hope—pray with us, and let peace begin with you.
This sacred initiative is sponsored by the Congregation of Holy Cross through Holy Cross Family Ministries (HCFM), continuing the legacy of Venerable Patrick Peyton, C.S.C., who devoted his life to strengthening families through prayer. October 22 is the Memorial of Pope John Paul II, a most appropriate day for this plea to our Lady. Totus Tuus!

Dear Jesus,
Father Peyton devoted his priestly life to strengthening the families of the world by calling them to pray together every day, especially the Rosary. His message is as important for us now as it was during his life on earth.
We beg you, therefore, to hasten the day of his beatification, so that Your faithful people everywhere will remember his message that The Family That Prays Together Stays Together, will imitate him in his devotion to Your Mother and ours, and will be inspired by His holy life to draw ever closer to You with childlike confidence and love. Amen.

Over the years, we’ve received many prayer requests seeking Venerable Patrick Peyton’s intercession. At The Father Peyton Center in North Easton, Massachusetts, we’ve also been blessed to meet many faithful souls—among them, Charlie and Susan Reynolds from Pennsylvania. After visiting Father Peyton’s grave and The Father Peyton Center, they shared their experience with their family—sparking a new and beautiful way to carry on his message.
Noteworthy comments from around the world reflect our mission to inspire, promote, and foster the prayer life and spiritual well-being of families throughout the world. We help families pray.
