Dandora
In our recent workshop at Our Lady of Assumption Parish, Barkorwa - Kisumu, one participant shared with the team a very transforming testimony. During the outreach, we had a theme ‘Breaking the Alabaster jar.’
One participant had been in an abusive marital relationship involving physical abuse and sleeping outside in a bush (almost every night) for several years, she resorted to infidelity in search of affection and attention. Through spiritual and emotional counseling coupled with the Sacrament of Penance, this outreach encouraged her to seek God's mercy and inspired her to make a decision to break from this habit. It was a moment for her to break her alabaster jar with great conversion. She now happily stays with her husband and together they are taking great care of their children.
Just as the Samaritan woman in John 4:1-34 could not withhold her joy, this participant too couldn’t hide the joy of her salvation through HCFM Kenya. She shared her testimony in the Luo language and her testimony touched many people.
Our continued communication with her has re-affirmed that the message that we spread that, "The family that prays together stays together!" can bring more harmony, peace, reconciliation, and conversion in the families we serve. Through ordinary means of salvation within the church, the lives of different families have come to live extraordinary lives in their homes together.
A world at prayer is world at peace.
