DEFCON is an abbreviation for Defense Condition. It represents the level of threat or readiness currently facing the personnel aboard an Imperial station or planetary base in the context of the Imperial Navy. There are five DEFCON levels:
DEFCON 5 - Regular Duties: Proceed with standard duties. Personnel should only have weapons on safety while guarding or conducting a patrol.
DEFCON 4 - Personnel on Alert: All Naval personnel should cease low-priority activities, immediately report to the Bridge holo table, and await further orders from Deck Command.
DEFCON 3 - Personnel to Battlestations: All regular duties should be ceased if possible; personnel should report to their pre-assigned Battlestations. Naval personnel should immediately report to the Bridge Pits, begin powering up weapons systems, and await further orders from Deck Command.
DEFCON 2 - Lockdown: The Bridge Deck blast doors should be immediately shut. Naval personnel should begin conducting sector scans, immediately continue firing weapon systems, and await further orders from Deck Command.
DEFCON 1 - Abandon Station: If aboard a ship, personnel should immediately reach any hangar bay or transport vessel. Once at a secure location, they should attempt to contact Imperial reinforcements and report to a battle station as quickly as possible.
The highest-ranking Naval personnel is responsible for changing the DEFCON state when necessary. At DEFCON 4/5, Naval personnel assigned to the Bridge Pits are expected to perform sector scans, check supply availability, check ammunition, and perform system diagnostics/repairs. At DEFCON 2/3, they are expected to perform immediate checks on the shield generators, engine core, hull, life support systems, and weapons systems. If any systems fail or malfunction, personnel must send repair droids or a Regimental Engineer to repair the damaged system/console.
As members of the Imperial Navy, we are responsible for maintaining order at any Imperial station. We accomplish this by patrolling, supervising, and reporting in specific sectors and station rotations. A Naval Non-Commissioned Officer (NCO) assign sector rotations to Naval Enlisted, while the highest-ranking Naval personnel assigns sectors, rotating them every 10-15 minutes. Serious and Passive Roleplay is vital to the Imperial Navy's functionality.
Bridge: The Bridge is the most crucial sector of any Imperial Star Destroyer and should always be manned by a Supervisory Officer or Naval Command. The highest-ranking Naval NCO+ is expected to assume Deck Command during all operations, delegating duties to those in Pits and utilizing radio to receive sector status reports. During DEFCON 4/5, Naval personnel assigned to the Bridge Pits are expected to perform sector scans, check supply availability, check ammunition, and perform system diagnostics/repairs. During DEFCON 2/3, Naval personnel assigned to the Bridge Pits are expected to perform immediate checks on the shield generators, engine core, hull, life support systems, and weapons systems. If systems fail or malfunction, personnel must send repair droids or a Regimental Engineer to repair the damaged system/console. Once dispatched, Naval personnel must successfully /roll to determine the effectiveness of the repair.
Air Traffic Control (ATC): ATC is the second most important sector of the ISD and is the Navy's secondary battle station, should the Bridge be non-functional or inaccessible. Within the ATC, members of the Imperial Navy can monitor all travel, ensuring only authorized personnel are permitted aboard an Imperial facility. All vessels must request authorization from the Air Traffic Control when requesting permission to depart or land at an Imperial-operated station. When operating ATC, Naval personnel may use the following commands:
Granting Ships: /comms [ATC] Granted <Callsign>.
Denying Ships: /comms [ATC] Denied <Callsign>, <Reason>. Opening or Closing a Hangar Bay: /advert [ATC] Opening <Hangar bay>.
Additional Sectors: The following additional sectors may be assigned to Naval personnel:
Ground Control Center: Located on Tatooine and is the primary station for Tank Troopers. Naval personnel authorizes ground travel to the appropriate personnel, following protocols of the ATC.
Deck Patrol: Personnel assigned to deck patrol are expected to ensure all Imperial personnel continues performing to the expected standards of their regiment. Non-compliant personnel may be reported to a Naval Security Officer or ISB Operative/Agent.
Supply Checks / Maintenance Patrols: Ensuring all necessary supplies and systems are at suitable functionality levels is crucial to the success of any operation.
The Imperial Security Officer Team is responsible for maintaining the security and safety of the ISD at all times. Security Officers assist Death Troopers and Shock Troopers in their duties while also performing their naval duties.
In the unlikely event that an Imperial Security Bureau (ISB) personnel assumes temporary command of the Naval personnel, they are expected to follow specific duties. ISB personnel are responsible for manning the bridge's deck, assigning Naval personnel their respective battle stations, and assuming temporary control of Naval radio communications to other battalions. The following are the primary and secondary battle stations that any Naval personnel can conduct:
Primary Battle Stations:
Turbo Lasers (TL)
Ion Cannons
Rotary Cannons
Secondary Battle Stations:
Life Support Systems
Brig Security
Hull Integrity
Shield Health
