The Inquisitors are a group of Force-sensitive dark-side agents who serve the Galactic Empire. Equipped with a lightsaber, they serve as a frontline force, blocking all blaster fire and allowing Frontline Troopers to stay safe from a covered position. This rule is known as the Defensive Rule. In the case that the enemy is not force-sensitive, Inquisitors should always be holding the defensive line, and only attacking if enemies are directly in front of them. Inquisitors are also highly specialized in defeating Jedi. When a Jedi is on the field, Inquisitors will concentrate their efforts on hunting down and neutralizing the Force-User and should not be ordered anywhere else.
On-ship, Inquisitors are a roaming force to enforce a defensive line around blaster-wielding Imperials to keep them safe from incoming fire. They mainly locate themselves in areas such as Courtyard, Engine Core, Hangar Bays, and any hallways with enemies present. They are only allowed in Clearance 4 areas upon request of the occupiers of the area (Naval for Bridge & ATC, Shock for Brig).
Off-ship Inquisitors are intended to hold the defensive line and prevent fire from reaching troopers. In the case of a Jedi, Inquisitors are to relentlessly hunt the Jedi until they are killed or captured. Inquisitors are also in charge of retrieving artifacts, relics, and Holocrons from off-ship deployments.
The Purge Trooper battalion was formed shortly after the fall of the Galactic Republic to counter Jedi in combat. Purge Troopers were specifically trained in hand-to-hand combat and general Force knowledge, despite their inability to use the Force. They were trained brutally to be as lethal as possible in hand-to-hand combat, and as a result, they are known for their combat proficiency.
Purge Troopers can be seen guarding high-ranking Inquisitors throughout the Galactic Empire, as they are trained to detect and neutralize Force-sensitive threats. During off-ship operations, they primarily search for Jedi, stolen Sith or Jedi artifacts, and holocrons. All Purge Troopers have blaster rifles, allowing them to help in one-on-one combat with regular enemies of the Empire.
The Inquisitor Assassins are a group of force-sensitive Inquisitors, trained to specialize in stealth, speed, and, of course, assassinations. The Assassins are highly disciplined and known for swiftly executing their enemies with calculated and precise blows. They are excellent infiltrators and use a dual-bladed red lightsaber. Assassins can be given targets marked for assassination, which is limited to melee-wielding enemies and Jedi.
Heavies specialize in heavy combat with their Electro Hammer and deal with clearing large amounts of enemy forces. They may be seen guarding Purge and IQ command with the permission of those respected command team members. On the field, they are on the back lines, ensuring there is suppressing fire for the front lines with their heavy blasters, such as the Z-6I.
Brawlers specialize in close-quarters combat and assault. Equipped with a shotgun and other close-quarters weapons, Brawlers are very effective on the front lines. They can patrol around the ISD during DEFCON 3 and 4 to deal with threats as soon as possible. They are known for their shotguns, the DP-23. On planet events, they head to the front lines.
Fireteam Spectre specializes in the extraction of Jedi relics and the rapid elimination of Force-sensitive threats. Anyone who utters their Purge name is executed, including Purge members. They have the authority to check individuals' midichlorian count to keep the ship safe from Force-sensitives.
Imperial Security Bureau personnel can take temporary command of the Purge Trooper battalion if there is a lack of Officer+ within a certain operation or attack. However, if Purge Troopers are called to hunt down a Jedi, Imperial Security Bureau personnel must relinquish temporary command of the Purge Troopers. Purge Troopers are versatile and can assist in multiple situations, but there must be a good enough reason for them to be requested, such as a Jedi spotted on the ISD. If an Imperial Security Bureau individual finds themselves in temporary command of the Purge Troopers during off-ship operations, they should prioritize finding Jedi or any key artifacts in the area and task the Purge Troopers to assist in areas lacking in troop numbers. Purge Troopers primarily help defend the Engine Core, but they can be used to help other key areas of the ship if specifically requested. Imperial Security Officers can request the assistance of Purge Troopers anywhere on the ISD, but there must be a good enough reason, such as a Jedi spotted on the ISD.
Imperial Security Bureau personnel cannot take temporary command of Inquisitors due to their direct association with the Inquisitorius. While the Inquisitorius is a branch of the Empire, it falls outside of most Imperial jurisdiction. Inquisitors can be requested to aid in location to provide defensive support or eliminate a Jedi, but full control cannot be taken by anyone not a member of the Inquisitorius or High Command.
