During on-ship attacks, a significant number of Imperial Commandos will be devoted to defending the Engine Core to prevent the Imperial Star Destroyer from being destroyed from within. However, Imperial Commandos also have sub-branches with other priorities.
During off-ship operations, Imperial Commandos will attempt to take down enemy infrastructure, hack enemy equipment, sabotage operations, defuse explosives, and gather intelligence on the battlefield.
Omega Squad is a highly specialized and confidential unit composed of the best of the best from the Imperial Commandos. They specialize in all types of combat and are experts in stealth, demolitions, and assassinations. Omega Squad can complete any task or mission given to them, including dealing with terrorists, infiltrating hostile territory, and eliminating rebel targets or troublesome Imperials.
Crimson Squad is a classified unit within Imperial Commando Special Operations. They operate as a backline squad that separates from the main forces during deployment. Crimson Squad specializes in assassination, intelligence gathering, industrial sabotage, and frontline reconnaissance. Each member of Crimson Squad has a specialized role in ensuring maximum domination on the battlefield.
If the Imperial Commandos are lacking officers during a high alert situation, Imperial Security Bureau personnel can take temporary command of the battalion to assist in completing tasks within the Imperial Commando battlestations. It is essential that all Imperial Security Bureau personnel understand what is expected during both on-ship attacks and off-ship operations.
During an attack on an Imperial Star Destroyer, Imperial Commandos are responsible for defending critical areas of the ship, such as the Engine Core and Pits, and defusing explosives. The following guidelines outline the responsibilities of Imperial Commandos at different DEFCON levels:
DEFCON 5: Patrol or Sector Assignments. (Normal Duties)
DEFCON 4: Patrol the ship with your Squad or Fireteam.
DEFCON 3: Hunt down any Elites or any hostiles. (Event Actors)
DEFCON 2: Imperial Commandos stationed in the Engine Core. Demolitions experts will be stationed on EC doors and walkways with standard Imperial Commandos, while Scout Snipers defend from the upper areas of the room. The respective leads will remain with their own troopers, and Omega Squad will fill as needed.
DEFCON 1: Exfil to MHB for evacuation. Scout Snipers are stationed on MHB rafters, demos next to the doors with DC-17m Shotguns, and standard Imperial Commandos form up with the Security Force and assist as needed.
During off-ship operations, Imperial Commandos focus on sabotaging enemy infrastructure, gathering intel, and defusing explosives. The following guidelines outline their responsibilities at different DEFCON levels:
DEFCON 5: Patrol or Sector Assignments. (Normal Duties)
DEFCON 4: Patrol around the base in squads or fireteams.
DEFCON 3: Imperial Commandos stationed in the Main Hangar Bay (MHB) on the planet, with demolition experts on the front lines and Scout Snipers providing sniper overwatch above the MHB doors. Enlisted and officers are positioned either on the front lines or just behind.
DEFCON 2: Imperial Commandos stationed in the Shield Core, with Scout Snipers on top of the cores or just outside the pits.
