Our Event Crew is responsible for facilitating all a/v requests at GBDSS. If someone is in need of live sound, our Event Crew is on it!
Our event crew goes through training every fall so that they are prepared to handle most live sound challenges. Many members of our Event Crew are enrolled in our Performance Production Specialist High Skills Major program and their work on event crew allows them the apply the skills they are learning.
If you are in need of a/v support at GBDSS, please follow the process below and we will be happy to facilitate your request.
When do I need to put in an A/V Request?
Any time you have an event in the cafeteria or drama room that requires sound, a projector, stage lighting, or a microphone.
A special school event where live sound is required
When should I put in an A/V Request?
In order to give us time to schedule our event crew, we ask that you put in the a/v request the week prior to the event. Schedules to students are sent out on Friday evening detailing what events they are in-charge of, so we need that information prior to the Friday in order to schedule them accordingly.
We are always happy to discuss a/v requests in person or through email, but ultimately an a/v request needs to be put in so that it appears on our Arts Dept. Master Calendar. When you put in an a/v request, it goes to an entire team of people who are overseeing a/v requests and the form inserts the event directly into the master Arts Department calendar which makes scheduling much easier for us.
We are generally happy to work with any event that needs a/v assistance! This form is in no way designed to create an additional barrier; it simply helps us to stay organized when we are often working on multiple events every week.
