Instrument Purchase Considerations
Every now and then we hear about parents/guardians who consider purchasing an instrument for their child. We just wanted to provide a brief warning that many of the cheap instruments available through online retailers and even some traditional music stores will be of poor quality. These instruments are likely to last only a matter of months and would be a poor investment. No matter what a manufacturer tells you, please be careful if you are considering purchasing an instrument.
We included this information not because we are expecting that you may purchase an instrument (most people don’t and the school is more than happy to lend our instruments), but every now and then we see a large chunk of money wasted through a well-meaning gift. If you are thinking about purchasing an instrument please contact us first and we would be more than happy to guide you through this process.
