The Transitions Division looks forward to welcoming you to the Foreign Affairs community! The Spouse/Partner Orientation Toolkit course has been adapted to a virtual platform and covers topics including bidding and family member employment while posted abroad.
Course Name: Spouse and Partner Orientation Toolkit
Dates and Time: April 6 to May 20, 2026. Several bidding-related sessions will be held throughout the first week and then beginning the second week, sessions will be held once a week on Wednesday mornings from 10am-12pm. All sessions will be virtual.
All spouses and partners are encouraged to sign up for the course even if they cannot attend every session. Spouses and partners will receive follow-up information each week, but only if they complete the pre-registration form linked below.

Spouses and partners, as well as significant others who intend to live overseas as Members of the Household, interested in participating in the course must pre-register here.
Please note: Spouses and partners must use the link above to pre-register for the Spouse and Partner Orientation toolkit. In the Welcome session, participants will get information on how to complete the registration process. Spouses and partners will not be automatically enrolled.

The Transitions Division Overseas Briefing and Readiness Center (OBC) will also be supporting you as you and your spouse bid on your first overseas assignment as a member of the Foreign Service class. The OBC will provide you with access to their password-protected bidding platform known as Post Info To Go. More information to come in the next few weeks!
