I have long thought about the idea of starting a ThinkTank, an idea and policy unit to delve into issues of construction. I seem to be part of a network of people my age who for what ever reason have retired, but want to continue, their experience and network is going to be lost unless they can network with likeminded people.
There are no boundaries of topics that can't be looked into, so whilst I ponder this I have started a new website to explore Architectural Technology as a ThinkTank called Frog Up or Down, a play on brickwork, and the way a frog should be laid, up or down.
I suppose the things I want to continue looking into as a ThinkTank can be pulled into perhaps a small list of topics:
Products
Testing Data
History
Future
The world is full of products related to the construction industry, some good, some not so good, some specific to a particular problem, some because of location, ie supply,
I am used to a world of testing, where any product before it gets used is tested, but we see so many failours, we need data, to see why how and when
Looking back into history, often shows how a product or material have survived, yet there is so little on this subject,
The future is not pre-ordaned, its there to be invented, but it needs researching, and a path to be followed
For me, Apple Notes is a major part of my Knowledge base, if your on Mach its an integrated part of Apple OS to easy to add a piece of knowledge from any program or thought
