We need insulation for many reason, Heat loss, Thermal comfort, Sound control, and many other applications surounding heat transfer. In this set of lecture slides, I look at thermal insulation.
I will start this section with a general over all lecture on Insulation, but there is so much to this subject, it will take several lectures.
In this opening lecture, I will look at the main materials and their basic use, with the theme "Not all insulations are equal" It will be updated regularly as I write the other slides.
