If there’s one thing Fred Glynn loves as much as running, it’s running for a cause. He always takes the time to go online to look for races wherein the proceeds go to worthy causes. One of his favorite races in which to participate is the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure. This isn’t exactly a race, but rather a series of five-kilometer runs and fitness walks. The proceeds of the Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure goes to the breast cancer movement.
While Fred Glynn loves to run long distances, which he regularly does, he clears his schedule whenever he sees one where he can both run and help people. And he encourages everyone reading this blog to do the same. After all, there’s no better reason to run.
Fred Glynn explains that races for worthy causes are perfect since they are sponsored events set up by organizations, foundations, or individuals who want to raise money for charity and raise awareness on specific issues that affect many people.
And for runners such as Fred Glynn, these races not only serve to boost their fitness and health, as running always does, it also provides a sense of accomplishment and fulfillment for participants – and that in itself is priceless.
