Councilman Fred Glynn is among the first to celebrate this latest bit of news that comes quite favorably for his hometown, Hamilton County.
As the whole world has been dealing with the impact brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic, lesser-known places like Hamilton County have surely not been spared either. In February, however, county officials bared that they have been awarded a $10-million dollar Emergency Rental Assistance (ERA) grant from the U.S. Department of Treasury, for COVID-19 assistance.
Specifically, this allocation is aimed at assisting households which are paying rental fees and other utilities that are required for day-to-day needs, shares Fred Glynn. The official body that has been called upon to oversee the distribution of the grant is the Hamilton County Trustee Association (HCTA), while the actual administration lies in the hands of the Westfield Washington Township (WWT) Trustees’ office.
Certainly, this distribution of funds needs to follow a certain order. The grant shall be handed out to eligible recipients after they go through an application process that will take place this spring. The county expects this to provide significant relief for residents who have not been able to pay their rent since April 2020.
The ERA is actually a result of the stimulus package that was initiated at the national level, through the U.S. Department of Treasury. Hamilton County is only one of seven areas in total which have been identified and scheduled to receive COVID-19 relief assistance for rent and utilities.
Fred Glynn is a native of Indiana, and he is a proud son of his hometown. He serves as a councilman in Hamilton County. For more on what he does, visit this page.
