"From using heavy machinery to writing grants to programming pieces and parts of the robot to creating better communication skills. FRC works more like a business than a class and prepares us for the real world." - Maceo
"FRC feels like a whole new family that is extremely welcoming and kind, but also is quite competitive sometimes which I like. " - Noel
"Kinda like a small family that connects people from different places from all over." - Rio
"FRC is a really cool community, before joining my robotic team I didn't do much outside. But after joining my robotics team, it was amazing, I met so many other people, I got to be apart of a cool team, I got to learn about electricity, and I got more comfortable in my own skin." -Vivian
"FRC is fun to me, it was one of the first things that lead me to find out that Robotics was bigger than I first thought; I had first constructed a claw bot but soon found out I would also be coding it. Although I had a hard time at first I got the hang of it" - Ebelin
"When I got into FIRST Robotics, I learnt more than what the school teach me. Not just more than STEM but life lessons that might benefits me and my career in the future. I am really happy that I am involved in the first ever and that is FIRST Robotics. " - Anthony
"FRC taught me that to build a robot does not only the physical build of it, more that it requires multiple different parts, and the more people you have together the more people you get to meet." - Luna
What is the most time consuming part of robotics?
Most people on our team said that working on making things like CAD models and code for the robot were the most time consuming and documentation.
CAD (Computer Assisted Design) was one of the most voted time consuming tasks because it's difficult to make what you want sometimes because you don't don't always know how things will work together or sometimes be put together.
Coding was another highly voted time consuming tasks since it's takes a lot of time to not only make the code, it also takes time to test then debug the code. Then we have to repeat the process of debugging and testing until everything is how we want it to work
And the last highly voted time consuming task was documentation. It takes a lot of time since most times you are working hard and get too into what your doing and you don't document anything until it's almost time for debrief.
What is the best part of robotics trips, or what do you foresee being the best part?
"Being with family!" - Jio
"Seeing how different it is in cities or states that are over 100 miles away, and how nice and welcoming teams from different parts of the world are..." - Maceo
"The exciting adventure of having the privilege to get to explore and meet other FRC teams. These adventures are truly something new to many of us! May we keep getting blessed with such adventures." - Hector
"You get to hang out with friends, and you get to go on adventures you wouldn't be able to normally. You wouldn't see a parrot in Geometry class." - Douglas
"Getting to meet new people from different parts of the state, and getting to see what they thought of for designs for their robot." - Luna
"You're able to experience different things that you wouldn't be able to in your area or community, and you're also able to interact with different teams, most being from different areas." - Ebelin
"Being able to interact with one another, and being able to just take in the moment, learning something new." - Jordan
"The best part of being in a Robotics trip is making new friends with other teams and networking in general." - Ethan
"Traveling with close friends is fun, but doing so while learning and having the freedom to explore new skills is what makes the experiences worth while." - Journi
"Meeting other teams from far away places." - Jp (John Paul)
