We have learned a lot about what is important to others in their free time. Now is your chance to answer the question: Was ist dir in deiner Freizeit wichtig? (What’s important to you in your freetime).
1. First, reflect. How do you like to spend your free time? Why? How much time do you spend doing various activities? How long have you been doing your favorite things? How does how you do in your free time compare to how German kids do in their free time?
2. Review the infographics above. Read up on how to make an effective Infographic.

Create an infographic that shows what is important to you in your freetime. How do you like to spend your free time? What activities do you do? How often do you do each activity? For how long(or how often) have you been doing the activities? How much time do you spend (how often) on things that aren’t important to you? What do you have to do that you don’t want to do in your freetime? How does what you do in your free time compare with what German kids do in their free time?
When you finish your infographic, download it as a PDF.
Then go to: www.voicethread.com
Upload your infographic into VoiceThread. Using the Audio Recording function, create a presentation of your infographic. It should give the audience a clear picture of what is important to you in your free time, how you spend your free time, and how that compares to German kids. The VoiceThread presentation will be shared with your classmates, and on the web.
Leave the VoiceThread in our VoiceThread classroom page: https://voicethread.com/myvoice/
Rationale:
This presentational technology module is situated within my Freetime Unit plan. It is the summative assessment for presentational communication. Students have been learning how to discuss free time activities, and will have taken an in depth look at roles of soccer, board games, Vereine (clubs), and SchreberGärten in German culture. In this module, students will have the opportunity to answer the question “what is important to you in your freetime”. They will share their answer in an infographic that they create, and then use VoiceThread to present their infographic. The VoiceThreads will be uploaded to the classroom webpage to give them an audience beyond the classroom.
Students will be able to:
