Accurate data is essential for sound decision-making. To succeed, data must be collected consistently, managed transparently, stored safely, analyzed responsibly, made accessible and useful to stakeholders, especially to those based in coastal communities.
Fish Forever works with fishers, fish traders/workers, and partners to regularly collect and analyze reliable socio-economic, fisheries, and ecological data.
The information is used in the initial stages of the program to understand peoples' beliefs and knowledge, financial resilience, food security, fisheries, and habitat health to plan program activities accordingly. Data is used throughout implementation to monitor and adjust strategies and work plans, and at critical points thereafter to assess their impact.
