Upcoming Event- UNC Admissions Representative will be presenting an essay workshop on September 9th during FLY Time! 

A personal essay is a great way for a university to learn about YOU! It gives them a snapshot into your voice, what you care about, and who you are beyond the numbers. 

Most university applications will require at least one essay, and some will require more. You can find the prompts for the Common Application here. 

Don't be afraid to ask for help with your essays! Have people who know you read over your essay to make sure your voice comes through. If you were to drop your essay on the ground with no name on it and your sibling/family member/best friend picked it up, would they know it was yours? 

Come see me for help! If you have a draft ready, send it my way! If you need help brainstorming, schedule an appointment with me to stop by my office. I will also have FLY Times available for working on essays, so keep a lookout! I have brainstorming worksheets available in the student services office to help!
