Early Action: nonbinding application that allows students to submit early applications and learn whether they are accepted to a school before regular decision applicants-- since Early Action is nonbinding, students may apply Early Action to multiple institutions

Early Decision: BINDING application that allows students to submit early applications and learn whether they are accepted to a school before regular decision applicants-- students may only apply Early Decision to one school and must withdraw applications from other schools if they are accepted by their Early Decision institution

Rolling Admission: admissions offices review applications as they come in instead of waiting to evaluate after a hard deadline-- rolling admissions usually results in faster admissions decisions because admissions offices continually make admissions decisions
