Hikari-no-Michi

Stunning sunset view at Kora Taisha Shrine

Kora Taisha Shrine
"Hikari-no-Michi"

The sunset from the Kora Taisha shrine on Mt Kora is a beautiful sunset spot in any season.

Around the summer solstice in June, visitors can also enjoy the view of the setting sun falling in the center of the stone staircase.

Curiously, the Kora Taisha Shrine, the ruins of Kurume Castle, and the Chikugo Kokufu ruins form a straight line, which coincides with the straight line of sunset on the summer solstice and sunrise on the winter solstice.

This may be because people have long been thankful for the blessings of the sun and prayed to the gods.

On the summer solstice, why not watch the sunset from Kora Taisha and experience the beautiful 'Hikari-no-Michi (Path of Light)'?
