Event 9 (September 20-22, 2019)

The summer, a warm and brief respite, is waning and the air grows chill. The minds of the Champions turn to the challenges ahead.


Even in their isolation, rumors abound of troubles in Concordance. There is talk of unrest in the City of Dreams, growing sympathy for the Vespers and heretic Champions, growing frustration within the government. And something is wrong in Thilmin. Those who see dark visions have been troubled with images of the forest in ruin, its heart stilled. The day before the weekend, it becomes apparent that something terrible has indeed happened. Information is scarce as to what. Until more is known, the Assembly declares Thilmin to be under Quarantine.


Political woes and the Templar General have become good friends as he continues to make missteps large and small, shaking the trust of the public. The latest one to reach the Vesper camp is that he spilled a drink on a distinguished guest at a dinner party, right before their toast. It is said the Holy Council is looking into his overall performance.


A feeling of increasing tension has settled in the hearts of all those with devotion the last few days. A great and inexorable mechanism set in motion just under one year ago has been building power and will soon reach its apex. It is said the wheels of justice grind slowly, but very finely.


Finally, the Conclave of the Favored of the Dreaming Goddess draws near, called by Pilar Peverel, the Vesper “Heretic”. During the Rite of Renewal, the Goddess herself called on her faithful to complete "the Cleaving”, which could mean reunification or separation. But which is the right path? The faithful must find a way forward. No path will prosper without unity of purpose. And so they gather, to debate and decide...
