Gdynia 2017

How was it?

In April 2017 ZSChiE in Gdynia hosted this year’s final meeting

of the ERASMUS + EURICT project

At the end of the year's cooperation, international partners from schools in Germany and Finland visited ZSChiE to present the results of their project work.

The main goal of the project activities in the first year was the design, programming and construction of a remotely controlled boat with sonars by groups of students - experts from each of the partner countries. Thanks to year-round cooperation and consultations that started in September in the city of Kiel in Germany, we had the opportunity to see in Gdynia a ready-made project - a boat prototype based on the ideas of pupils from particular countries.

In addition to the official presentation of the results of this year's cooperation, which took place at the school, we tried to show our guests not only Gdynia, but also Gdańsk and Sopot. It was important to present the history and culture of our region. Thanks to the courtesy of the Gdansk company SUNREEF, we could visit luxurious yachts, learn about the process of designing, manufacturing and maintenance in a shipyard which specializes in the construction of luxury boats and catamarans according to the individual customer's needs. An important attraction was also a visit to the Pomeranian School of Sailing and Maritime Education in Gdynia. This is a center of nautical knowledge and sea education as well as a training place for sailing instructors with modern sailing simulators.

Our guests, especially the students, who were in Poland for the first time, considered this stay as very successful and eagerly shared their insights on everyday life, education, work, recreation and opportunities offered by the Tri-City to their Polish peers.
