OVERVIEW:

Dressmaking 2 is an intermediate-level course that builds on the foundational skills learned in Dressmaking 1, focusing on more complex garment construction techniques and refined finishing methods. Students learn to work with more intricate patterns and incorporate design elements such as collars, sleeves, pleats, zippers, and linings. The course emphasizes accuracy, creativity, and the application of industry-standard practices to produce well-fitted, professionally finished garments. By the end of the course, learners are expected to demonstrate greater independence in interpreting patterns, selecting fabrics, and producing customized clothing that reflects both functionality and personal style. 

REFLECTION:

Taking Dressmaking 2 has deepened my understanding of garment construction and pushed me to refine both my technical and creative skills. Working on more complex projects like structured blouses or dresses with detailed elements challenged me to be more precise, patient, and confident in my decision-making. I learned the importance of careful planning, attention to fabric behavior, and using advanced sewing techniques to achieve a polished and professional finish. This experience not only improved my craftsmanship but also gave me a stronger sense of independence and pride in creating garments that reflect both style and function.
