The competent teacher understands and uses appropriate formative and summative assessments for determining student needs, monitoring student progress, measuring student 6 growth, and evaluating student outcomes. The teacher makes decisions driven by data about curricular and instructional effectiveness and adjusts practices to meet the needs of each student.
I have constructed this test, to analyze and monitor my students performance and to measure their academic growth. This is a test regarding one chapter of the Woolfolk text book that is is aimed to my target grade level area; and it is an appropriate formal assessment, in which they are able to view their results at the end and have a better understanding to reflect on their academic progress. It contains definitions, terms, and problem solving questions, that they get to answer appropriately and be able to understand the concept. Students would be able to have the opportunity to ask questions about their test results and have the opportunity to retake the test in a timely manner if necessary. This test contains full coherent material from the chosen chapter and it was produce for a purpose to be able to determine the students needs and it will also give me a better picture of what as a teacher I need to change.
Creating this test, it helps students understand the meaning of the material and are able to see how they can improve their learning strategies. Students are able to take their time, because it is an online test with no time restrictions and are able to think rationally about their answers as it states in the performance indicator 7-0," Effectively uses appropriate technologies to conduct assessments, monitor performance, and assess student progress," students are able to discuss their test results with each other for comparison during class time the next day. The creation of this test also falls into the performance indicator 7-M, "Maintains useful and accurate records of student work and performance," where as I am able to view all tests results from not just that chapter but prior chapter tests. Scores are maintained in spreadsheets and are available at anytime for further analyses. As I created this test I am able to see test scores as an individual or as a whole class and I am able to see who is falling behind and who would need a little extra help from me as the performance indicator states in 7-K " Uses assessment results to determine student performance levels, identify learning targets, select appropriate research-based instructional strategies, and implement instruction to enhance learning outcomes," as an advantage for me to evaluate my instruction and to see if I can modify some of the information implemented.
In the creation of this test, helped me grow as a professional educator in learning the reason why students are assessed and evaluated for their academic performance purpose. I learned that by creating a test of only consisting one chapter was not as easy as I thought. It consisted of planning , and knowing your own material before constructing the test for the students and being able to construct it properly and touching on every point needed. Not only did I created a test , but I also created an evaluation/analysis that helps support my obtained information that I gathered through their tests. Also, I am able to be knowledgeable on how to create a test using the Bloom Taxonomy system and support a more understanding and positive test results.

I have created this Student Assessment Project that was created in the Fall of 2022 during 25 hours of observation in the middle grades’ education class with Dr. Ivanyuk. This artifact is an assessment that has different pieces of data from a student that I was able to observe and questioned. This artifact contains the process of how I was able to keep track of the students’ needs and interests. This artifact was created for the purpose of having the experience I need to assess my future students and know the strategies and learn the processes of it.
In the creation of this Student Assessment Project, I was able to understand the student in a different way and learn more about them. As it states in the Performance Indicator 7-K, "appropriately uses a variety of formal and informal assessments to evaluate the understanding progress and performance of an individual…,” I was able to understand their background by questioning his teacher with prior data from other years and how they have progressed through out; and being able to assess them in two different informal assessments to tell me more about their interests and computer skills. I was able to use two types of assessments called, Interest Inventory where I will ask several questions that will tell me their interests and another one called Student’s Basic Online skills, to see where they are at when using technology. As I created this artifact, I was able to know and understand how students learn through by looking into their lenses. As knowledge indicator 7-J, “uses assessment results to determine student performance levels…,” while I worked on this project, I understood that I used one assessment questionnaire where I was able to extract information to use when selecting an appropriate text level for the student to read.
In the creation of this artifact, I was able to learn and enjoy spending time with middle grade students. Being able to have that experience helped me in being able to assess the interests of students and learned how they learn inside the classroom. Being able to have the opportunity to observe many students and see how their day goes was a great experience for me as a new teacher. Overall, this was an experience that I will always use during my teacher years, because I will be prone to using a variety of different assessments to interpret information for my needs and it also benefits my students.
