The competent teacher differentiates instruction by using a variety of strategies that support critical and creative thinking, problem-solving, and continuous growth and learning. This teacher understands that the classroom is a dynamic environment requiring ongoing modification of instruction to enhance learning for each student.
Video to my Instruction delivery lesson -
I have created a Digital Instructional video, teaching a math concept. This is short video that is is aimed to my target grade level area, and it is an informational resource, in which they are able to use and play back for better understanding of the material taught. It contains a definition, terms, and examples to learn and understand at their own learning pace. Students would be able to have the opportunity to ask questions about any issue they have regarding the lesson on the next meeting day of school. This video covers the intro of a concept and it was produce for a purpose, in which students would be able to discuss and practice more examples during class time.
Creating this Instructional video, it helps students understand a concept at their own pace and are able to research more about it during their free time at home. Students are able to pause, forward, or rewind when ever they need too, as it states in the performance indicator in 5-I," Uses multiple teaching strategies, including adjusted pacing and flexible grouping, to engage students in active learning opportunities that promote the development of critical and creative thinking, problem solving, and performance capabilities," students are able to discuss the material within each other during class time the next day. This video also falls into the performance indicator 5-N, "Uses technology to accomplish differential objectives that enhance learning for each student," where as they are able to view and learn and take notes on things that they are puzzled about and question more to further expand their knowledge.
As I created this short video, I am able to see which students are struggling and which students are ready for the next unit. It helps me oversee the struggled students and be able to help them 1:1 during class time, meanwhile the students that are ahead can continue practicing the concept or move to the next part of the unit, in winch it states on the Knowledge indicator 5-A," Understands the cognitive processes associated with various kinds of learning." In the Knowledge indicator 5-C, " Knows how to implement effective differentiated instruction through the use of wide variety of materials, technologies, and resources," students are given a few key terms and example sheets before going home and viewing the Instructional video. Students, have not only have the video and resource sheets but they are able to message each other or my self for further support. As a Competent Teacher I am aware of the knowledge indicator 5-H," understands when and how to adapt or modify instruction based on the outcome data, as well as student needs, goals, and responses," because of my differential resources and teaching methods I am able to see if instructional videos are something we can continue in our classroom, and I am able to see if maybe the videos can be modify in different short parts for the students. With students responses, I will have a more of an open view on how my students are reacting and responding to the lesson taught.
Creating this short Instructional video helped me grow as a professional educator that will eventually help me succeed in my own classroom. I learned that by creating a video was not as easy as I thought, it consisted of researching, planning , and knowing your own material before teaching students a concept. Not only did I taught a concept in a video, but I was able to experience for a short time being a Professional Educator. Also, I am able to be knowledgeable on how to create a video, so in the future I am able to teach my students how to make their own video for future projects. For my future classroom I will definitely have a combination of learning through videos as well as learning through each other.

I have created this screen-o-cast video for student’s resource access, during student teaching 2023. This artifact is video for students that were not able to be in person for that specific lesson and was created for the purpose of having the opportunity to view it before the next class lesson. This artifact contains the skills they need to continue with the Rational Expressions unit. This artifact was created for the main idea of having a second opportunity to view the lesson for the students that may have needed a quick refreshment of how to solve rational expressions.
Creating this video helped students understand the meaning of the expectations that I require to achieve in their academic goals in my classroom. As it states in the Performance Indicator 5-I, "uses multiple teaching strategies including adjusted pacing and flexible grouping to engage students through active learning …,” as I recorder this lesson I was able to upload it onto YouTube where I know that my students will have easy access to and I also knew that by creating such video, students were able to determine how slow or how fast to play the video at their own needs. In addition, there maybe a few students that will take advantage of having videos available for them to go back to whenever they have questions. Alongside knowledge Indicator 5-E states “knows techniques for modifying instructional methods materials and environment to facilitate learning for students with diverse learning characteristics,” I was able to use this video for the students that needed instruction before class time, so during class time the type of students with diverse needs where able to work on more challenging problems instead.
In the creation of video, it helped me grow as a professional educator in creating something that can help my students to use to learn the content in their own way. As I created this artifact, I knew that students would take advantage and take their time to view it; and catch up to a missed day in class. I was able to see the views that the video had in 24 hours, and I was glad that students took charge and were responsible to learning the content. As a teacher not only are we responsible to deliver the content but do be able to remind and push our students to success.
