Undersheriff Jackson Lake
“The key to successful leadership today is influence, not authority.” - Kenneth BlanchardJackson Lake has built his law enforcement career on the principle that the badge amplifies a person’s true character. This belief has driven his commitment to policies that emphasize community policing, professional appearance standards, and a focus on the mindset of officers over mere technical knowledge.Lake’s dedication to law enforcement runs deep in his family’s history. His great-grandfather, Cullen Lake, served as a U.S. Marshal, marking the beginning of a family tradition. Although the next generation shifted focus to military service, Jackson’s father, William Robert Lake, reignited the legacy by joining the National Parks Service’s law enforcement branch. His career brought the Lake family to San Andreas when he was appointed head of the State Parks Service.Following in his father’s footsteps, Jackson began his career with the San Andreas State Police, rising through the ranks in the Criminal Investigations Division. His leadership and investigative expertise caught the attention of both the governor and the Los Santos mayor’s office, culminating in his appointment as Chief of the Los Santos Police Department to lead a major reorganization and reform effort. As LSPD Chief, Lake cultivated a strong alliance with SASP Commissioner Romero and Sheriff Emily Winters. These relationships would later shape his path when, after retiring as Chief, he joined the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office as Criminal Investigations Major under then-Sheriff Bleezy. Demonstrating exceptional leadership, he rose to the rank of Colonel and was ultimately appointed Undersheriff upon Sheriff Winters’ return to office.Jackson Lake’s career reflects a legacy of service, a focus on integrity, and a commitment to excellence in law enforcement.
