Sheriff Jackson E. Lake
“The key to successful leadership today is influence, not authority.” - Kenneth BlanchardJackson Lake has built his law enforcement career on the belief that the badge amplifies a person’s true character. This guiding principle has shaped his dedication to community policing, professional standards, and developing the mindset and integrity of officers beyond technical proficiency.
Lake’s commitment to public service runs deep in his family’s history. His great-grandfather, Cullen Lake, served as a U.S. Marshal—beginning a legacy of justice and duty that spans generations. Though the next generation turned to military service, Jackson’s father, William Robert Lake, rekindled that calling by joining the National Parks Service’s law enforcement branch, later becoming head of the San Andreas State Parks Service and bringing the Lake family to the state.
Following in his father’s footsteps, Jackson began his own career with the San Andreas State Police, advancing through the Criminal Investigations Division. His strong leadership and investigative acumen drew the attention of the governor and Los Santos city officials, who appointed him Chief of Police to lead a sweeping reform of the LSPD.
As Chief, Lake forged close partnerships with SASP Commissioner Romero and Sheriff Emily Winters—alliances that would define his later career. After retiring as Chief, he joined the Blaine County Sheriff’s Office as Criminal Investigations Major under then-Sheriff Bleezy, eventually rising to Colonel and later being appointed Undersheriff upon Sheriff Winters’ return.
Now serving as Sheriff of Blaine County, Jackson Lake continues to embody the values that have guided his career: integrity, professionalism, and leadership rooted in service. Under his command, the Sheriff’s Office remains personable yet disciplined—an agency known for fairness, experience, and a steadfast commitment to making Blaine County a model of law enforcement excellence.
