SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER
Hello again Friends and Family!
I hope September is treating you well! I have officially been in Chicago for a month and a half now, and things are finally starting to feel like a new normal.
Now that all of our fall programs are up and running, I have been able to develop some sense of a more regular schedule. However, the life of coaching rarely feels like it fits a typical routine!

FALL CLUB TEAM
Our club team has finally reached game season, and I have discovered how much I truly do enjoy coaching. We are about halfway through our league games. Games are so so much fun. I am so proud of the girls for their consistent efforts and coachability. Our big focus for this season is integrity, and we are talking about reflecting Christ through our thoughts, words, and actions. Each game has brought a great opportunity for the girls to learn more about controlling their thoughts, uplifting and encouraging their teammates, and displaying the love of God to their teammates and opponents through their actions.
Coaching has presented me with the challenge of seeing the game in a new way, and I am learning a lot about this side of soccer. Being so fresh out of the player to coach transition means I am constantly presented with the opportunity to learn to think in a new way.
My favorite part of coaching these girls so far has been watching them turn our team into a real community. I love watching their friendships form and grow, and it has been surprisingly sweet to watch them face conflicts and disagreements and work through those. Their parents helped plan a team dinner, and we are hoping to do a few more team events throughout our season.

GOLF OUTING
Toward the beginning of the month, we hosted our annual "Chicago Eagles Golf Outing." This is an event to thank some of our sponsors and provides an opportunity for fundraising. It was such a sweet day getting to fellowship with our extended team and getting to know many local people whose partnerships help make our mission possible, just like yours!

MICROLEAGUE
MicroLeague is now in full swing, and I have found so much joy in this hour of my day. Admittedly, I had a hard time with this program at first because it is so high-energy. God is so so good to provide in our weaknesses, and He has filled me up each and every day. Even amidst sickness and exhaustion, God has not only sustained me through this program but has actually refreshed and filled me through it. The joy of each of the little kids has been such a blessing and a surprising pick-me-up.

COMMUNITY
This month has led to a lot of sweet community building, both in new and old relationships. I have grown so close with my host family, and they are truly feeling like family. It has been such a blessing to be welcomed by them.
They are doing a full kitchen renovation right now. It is super exciting to see things starting to fall into place, but for now, we have a makeshift kitchen going in the living room. It has surprisingly been such a fun adventure.
The office community is always growing and developing in new ways. I no longer feel like the "new" person, and I am so grateful for my relationships with my coworkers. This month, we had our first Resident Brunch and Game morning with the office. Again, these people continue to be such a gift!
Praises and Prayer Requests
I have been sick on and off this month, and the Lord was so faithful to provide rest and health even in the business. Somehow, each time I stepped into a training or Micro, I was overcome with a wave of energy and was able to coach feeling good!
I am still so grateful for the community I have found here. We have had so many real conversations over the past month, and it has been so so filling. I love my friends!
We are now over halfway through our official club season. I am praying that we will finish well and that we would be empowering these girls to share the things they are learning in their homes and schools.
I am missing home quite a bit these days :(
It has been fun to watch Milligan games online, but it has made me miss school a lot.
