DECEMBER NEWSLETTER
Merry Christmas! This has been the sweetest season of joy and expectancy, and I hope it has been a wonderful one of blessing for you too! Even in the slower moments, we had lots going on in Chicago!

2014 GIRLS CLUB TEAM
Although our girls teams took December off, we still made sure to get together as a team a few times! We had both a Team and Club Christmas Party. For our team party, we gathered at one of the family's houses. We watched a Christmas movie, decorated gingerbread houses, made Christmas cookies and hot cocoa, played Christmas charades, and shared a Christmas devotional.
It is always so fun to spend time with the girls outside of soccer. I have loved getting to know their unique personalities more!

CLUB CHRISTMAS PARTY
We also hosted a club-wide Christmas party this month.
We had snacks and hot chocolate, crafts, and played soccer.
Many of our club families were able to attend, which was really cool. It was neat to watch families from different teams connect and get to know each other. I love that our club is able to feel like one big family, even across teams and age groups. What a beautiful taste of the church!

CHRISTMAS WITH FRIENDS
I am starting to realize we had a lot of parties this month! We celebrated our office party by solving a murder mystery, all set up by Trey. It was so much fun to spend some time together out of the office, exchange gifts, and eat lots of Christmas treats!
I am so grateful for the intentionality of my friends, and that has been so apparent this season. Elisha is just the best! She surprised me and took me to a park to see Christmas lights. It was a really fun winter adventure!

HOME FOR CHRISTMAS
In a super special, last-minute surprise, I was able to go home for Christmas! I was just there long enough to sleep in my own bed for a night or two, but it was one of the greatest gifts of the season. It was really special to spend the holiday at home and with family and getting to go to my church at home with them for Christmas Eve service. I am super grateful for everyone who made that trip possible!
Praises and Prayer Requests
This Christmas season was, as always, such a special time of gratitude and joy. I am just so in awe that the God of the universe would choose us, come to earth as a lowly infant, and die all for us to live in eternity with Him. The gift of Jesus and His eternal love for us is the greatest praise this December!
It was also a season of giving and receiving so many gifts, most of which were not even material items as much as time and friendship. I am so reminded of the gift that giving is, and it has been neat to experience that for myself this Christmas as well as watch my sweet friends and host family be overcome with that joy as well!
As I shared in my last update, winter is finally here! It is COLD, and I am learning what real windchill feels like! Prayer for safety in driving on winter streets for my first time would be appreciated.
I will be traveling with my family over the winter break. Please pray for a restful and filling time with them as well as safety in travels both for us on our trip as well as in our separate returns home. I would love prayer in saying goodbye to them, as I know that will be a hard one.
