FEBRUARY NEWSLETTER
Happy February! I can't believe I am already wrapping up my seventh month in Chicago. We are starting to look forward toward our next season, and things are getting pretty exciting! Check it all out!

HOST FAMILY
This month has come with such a sweet reminder of the gift of my host family. My "little brothers" have started calling me their sister, and it makes my heart so so happy!
We celebrated lots of birthdays this month (3 in my family and nearly half of our office staff!), even throwing a very on-brand 12th birthday party... that is, "6-7" themed...
One of my favorite special moments this month was Sunday night pizza nights. Every Sunday, my host mom makes homemade pizza dough, and we all make our own homemade pizzas. It has been so fun to watch the boys get creative and spend time together making dinner.
Another unexpected surprise is that my oldest brother, Justin, and my host dad, Aaron, have been encouraging me to get back into playing the tuba. This month, they located a tuba for me, and Justin and I have played together some. They want me to join him in the church orchestra! The director has already picked out a song for a low-brass quintet. I'm not too sure about how that will go, but it has been fun to have a unique thing to do with him.

COACHING
Coaching has looked a little different for me this month. I spend almost every evening with our kiddos, so I am working with a pretty wide range of ages and teams.
MicroLeague has continued to be a sweet time of my week. I have loved working with the youngest kids, and the slightly older crew has actually found a really soft spot in my heart. They are such good listeners and bring such insightful conversation to our Bible and team-talk times.
My club team is starting to shift toward our spring season, but one of the really special gifts of being inside has been the space for our weekly Bible study. The girls bring so much wisdom and so many good questions. I told them just last week, they are truly leading the conversation, not me. That is so so cool for me to be a part of. We just wrapped up our study in John, and the girls have asked to spend some time in the book of Psalms next. I am excited to see them lead the study a little more as we start a new book.
Elisha and I have also been working with our high-school boys teams during their strength and conditioning training. Elisha is a little more equipped than I am as a strength coach, but I have really enjoyed being around the boys more and getting to know them better as well as watching Elisha share things she is passionate about in the weight room.

WEDDING SEASON!
Outside of work, we were able to celebrate the wedding of Kieley and Vini! Technically, this is a March wedding, so check out next month's update for more photos and to hear all about it! But for now, it has been really fun to walk alongside Kieley and Vini in prayer, preparation, and excitement for their big day. It has been quite the process, and it has been an honor to get to witness their faith, patience, and trust in the Lord grow continually along the way.

TRIP TO ALABAMA
If you have made it this far into the update... SURPRISE!
This is a pretty exciting personal update. Over the past little bit, my friendship with Jake has continued to develop, and we have been so blessed to step into getting to know each other deeper in a dating relationship. This month, I was able to travel to his new home to visit him, meet his community, and step into his world for a bit. Thanks Jake, for making that trip happen!
Looking back over the past few years, and even since the start of Residency, it is so clear and obvious to see the Lord's hand all over our friendship and timing. This has been such a gift and picture of God's kindness. I am excited to continue to see where He leads us!
Praises and Prayer Requests
As silly as it may sound, one really big praise I have this month is the weather! We have had several stretches of warmth and sunlight, and it has been a much-needed break from the Chicago winter.
As I mentioned above, Jake has been such a gift in this season. I am so grateful for the ways the Lord has used him and us to grow already, and I can't wait to see where He will take us from here!
We are starting to make the move toward spring season things, and we are working hard on the details of our summer programming. We would love prayer over both seasons and groups of players!
I am starting to explore what my next steps will be once I complete my Residency whether that is a future here or elsewhere. I would appreciate prayers over that process, for discernment, and for the opening of the right doors.
