11.7 FINAL NEWS BREAK.mp4As a part of my Newscast Production course, I produce and anchor our Northerner News Break each week. I explore global, regional, and campus news to bring a story from each category to audiences.
On Nov. 7, the news break focused on providing post-Election Day highlights, from national news to state-wide news.
In addition to the news break, which can only be a maximum of 2:20 minutes, I also head up our weekly 30-minute newscast. In this role, I strategically select which stories to include in the report, copy the script into our teleprompter, upload video into our system, review the script, and effectively anchor the show.
10.24 NEWS FINAL.mp4Our Oct. 24, 2024 news break looked specifically at Ohio and Kentucky events, from Tim Walz visiting Louisville to the murder trial of a former Columbus police officer.
This news break from May 2, 2024 was the final break of the semester. We reached for new heights and tried something we hadn't before-- sourcing video directly from an NKU event.
