My experience in broadcast journalism has taught me how to convey stories in a visual and concise manner.
I have been able to display my communication and public speaking skills as an anchor and technical and computer skills through editing on Adobe Premiere Pro, along with leadership and teamwork skills while serving as both a producer and intern.
When Northern Kentucky University broke ground on its Science Center expansion, I created a package and interviewed the president and dean for further information.
While interning at KET, I had the ability to interview a Northern Kentucky state senator as well as her NKU student intern.
On the night of the 2024 presidential election, I gave live broadcast updates for our social media channels.
My final internship project at KET focused on rural journalism in Kentucky and how young editors are taking up the lead in newsrooms.
