Elixr has been unleashed upon the world, and the clock is ticking. As cities fall, people do whatever it takes to escape, hide, and survive. For some, like Jillian Downer, the idea of being trapped in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan means it's time to run as fast and as far from other people as possible.
Others, like Seneca Roberts stubbornly cling to the ideas of loyalty, and duty in a world that is crumbling right in front of them. As Elixr spreads, everyone will be tested, but only the strong, the smart, and the lucky will survive.
Edith Traviers activates Centurion by calling Seneca Roberts and ordering him to collect his team and report to Martin Manor. Seneca leaves his home in the western suburbs of Chicago and heads to St. Charles, Illinois to pick up Ward. What he finds in St. Charles is nothing short of the end of the world.
Meanwhile, in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan, Darren Bruce, a grad student working on an archaelogical dig site, helps uncover a viking longship buried for a thousand years. While celebrating that night, rumors spread that the government is locking down all border crossings, and quarantining cities.
