Grad Student, Northern Michigan University
History nerd, grad student, archaeologist in training, viking.
Darren Bruce is a graduate student at Northern Michigan University, attending the College of Medieval Studies and works closely withe Proffesor Albert Turgin, the chair of the department. He is on the team that excavated the first section of the viking longboat unearthed in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Darren Bruce will tell anyone he meets that he belongs in a different time. He has a personal code of conduct more befitting a medieval warrior than a grad student. With his shoulder-length hair, wide shoulders, and tall stature, it was an easy enough decision for Darren to focus on medieval and viking-age history: he looks like a viking.
Darren has long had a fascination with history and how people lived, loved, and died in the past.
Darren is one of five children born to Carlyle and Samantha Bruce. His father's family claims descent from Robert the Bruce, King of Scots, and stories of the famous medieval king's adventures spurred Darren to become interested in medieval studies. He currently has no significant other.
