Seneca Roberts
Commander of Centurion
Commander of Centurion
Special Forces vet, leader of Centurion. Hired enforcer.
Seneca Roberts served almost twenty years in the army, the last fifteen of which were spent in the special forces as part of Delta Force. While in the army's elite counter-terrorism task force, Seneca was sent all over the world on clandestine missions to root out and destroy some of America's most dangerous enemies on their own turf. He served with excellence and had a stirling record until the last few years when he bacme more vocal in showing his concern for the safety of his men over the value of the mission. Frequently clashing with senior officers, Seneca was twice demoted, from Major to Captain and back again. Eventually, he bacame a potential liability for the kinder, gentler, more PC-obsessed military command structure, and it was determined to be in teh country's interest if the troublesome operator failed to come home from an especailly dangerous assignment.
When he did come home, despite all the odds, with his XO, Ward, by his side and equally pissed off, both of them were summarily discharged from the army and sent packing.
Once out of the service, it wasn't long before private security firms came calling to hire Seneca and his unique set of skills. Desmond Martin sent Edith Traviers to acquire Seneca's services on retainer and he has been a loyal employee of Martin's ever since. Leading the enforcement group/strike team codenamed Centurion, Seneca enjoys a high status among the rest of Martin's employees, even if most are more afraid of him rather than not. As part of his accepting the offer, Martin was forced to hire Ward as part of Centurion as well.
Since joining Martin Enterprises, Seneca and Centurion have enjoyed a perfect success rate with the various missions to which they've been assigned. As a result of his track record and experience, Martin refuses to utilitze Seneca and Centurion except in cases of the utmost importance or urgency, where diplomacy and negotiation are either impractical or pointless. Centurion is Martin's 'big stick' and he wields it like a scalpel.
Seneca has few close friends, none of whom are closer than Ward. Little is known about his personal life, and he prefers it that way. Outside of Desmond Martin himself, Seneca rarely has contact with anyone from Martin Enterprises other than Edith Traviers, Martin's executive assistant and the person who hired him--and Ward.
