CEO of Martin Enterprises, Inc., and creator of Elixr
Philanthropist, billionaire, inventor, showman: Desmond Martin wants it all, the power, the money, the fame, the glory. But what will he do to get it?
Desmond Martin is the Founder and CEO of Martin Enterprises, Inc., a global conglomerate of bio-tech companies that currently lead the world in medical research and development of new technologies in the health care industry. He is a self-made billionaire, and rumored to be the world's first trillionaire thanks to Elixr and its predicted derivative products.
With Dr. Norman Yang, he developed and tested, and later produced the Elixr Serum, touted as the fountain of youth and a legitimate (potential) source human immortality. Further study is needed to confirm these claims, but the early indications point toward Martin and Yang creating the real "miracle" drug.
Creating Elixr is the life's work of Martin, but to put a project of that magnitude together required resources and technology both invented in the dozens of Martin Enterprises research facilities across the United States, but also aquired from foreign nations and companies. In more than a few cases, not everyone Martin encountered wanted to make a deal--or stand by the deals they'd already made. When push comes to shove, Desmond Martin doesn't back down; that's not how one wins the game.
He has on retainer an elite group of mercenaries, all ex-special forces operators, codenamed Centurion, that leap into action at his beck and call, anywhere, anytime, all over the world. Sometimes, they are needed to retrieve and ensure the safe delivery of certain medical supplies, instruments, or personel. Other times, Centurion is called up as a private army, ready to visit violence upon those who stand in the way of scientific progress, or those who outright attempt to thwart Martin in his ongoing quest. Centurion is Martin's own private "nuclear option."
Desmond is an only. His parents died in his youth due to poor health and he has no known relatives. The loss of his parents spurred him to find a way to help people live healthier lives, but Desmond never entered proper medical training. His talents at organizing people and influencing decisions through sheer will and personality led him down a path that made him a rich man at a relatively young age. This welath in turn allowed him to focus on Elixr.
He is married to Catia Galaz-Martin, and they have no children. As CEO of Martin Enterprises, he employs thousands of people, including Dr. Jerry Mapp, Dr. Selena Lourdes, and his personal friend, Dr. Norman Yang. He takes a fatherly interest in the life of his executive assistant, Edith Traviers, who is also a personal friend of Catia.
He also funds, equips, and retains the services of Centurion, led by Seneca Roberts.
