Adiós Santiago - Hola Puerto Plata
Adiós Santiago - Hola Puerto Plata
We got up early today, brought our bags to the bus, had some breakfast at the hotel and made our way up towards Puerto Plata. On the way to Puerto Plata, we stopped in Damajagua, a small rural town where we went to the 27 charcos, a natural series of jumps and slides that were formed by el Río Damajagua (the Damajagua River) into natural pools of water.
It was an exciting adventure, but what stands out most is the support that all of the students were giving each other when it was someone's turn to jump. There was one student who was hesitant, but with everyone's support, and her courage, made the leap! We all cheered for her and it was such a powerful moment.
After the waterfall adventure, we were off to the Zipline adventure! This excursion was a bit more chill, but still definitely fun and exciting! We all made our way through the series of 6 different ziplines, enjoying the view and breeze as we zoomed from platform to platform.
To cap off an exciting day of adventure, we continued on to the resort in Puerto Plata. We arrived around 6:15pm, checked into our rooms and finally had a chance to shower, relax, and grab some food. I think I speak for everyone when I say that the resort was a nice change of pace from the hustle and bustle of Santo Domingo and Santiago.
