F.A.Q

How much do your meals cost?

Our meals are on a tiered pricing structure so will become cheaper per meal when you order more, going from £3.25-£2.25 per meal. So an example of this will be:

4 Meals - £12

5 Meals - £15

6 Meals - £16.50

7 Meals - £19.25

We also base our delivery cost based on postcode, this works out to

SO14-SO19 - £1.50

SO50, SO52, SO53 - £3

(Unfortunately we are unable to deliver to the Romsey area)

Collection - Free!

Sounds Great! Where do I collect from?

Collection is from 5:30pm Board in the City CIC on Onslow Road, SO14 0JG is the postcode (big yellow and purple building) if the Easy Tz Team isn't in, the Board in the City team will be informed and will be in until 9pm; your meals will be in the fridge.

Surplus food? What does this mean?

Food surplus is food before it goes into landfill, but not what you would typically think! This is food that isn't going to be sold, but still edible. Local food based charities and groups such as The Big Difference provide our food for us and they collect this from a variety of sources such as retail, wholesale and other food industries. We also like to look around ourselves to see what we can find with the classic yellow sticker before this goes in the bin!

So what happens when I order?

Our order form comes out every Monday alongside our updated menu for the week. Once you fill in this form the google form should send you an email to confirm your order and give you your personal quote for the cost of your meals, delivery cost and if you have any additional requests. Our orders close at midnight Monday ready for delivery/collection for Wednesday evening. Check out our Order process link to find out more.

But wait... 7 meals? Will the meals last in the fridge for 7 days?

We recommend our meals last in the fridge for 3 days, however if you check our menu for the week you will be able to see which meals you can freeze for the week! This information will also be available on your container (if it has the word FREEZE or not) This ensures you have meals ready for when you would like and you can keep them safe. Our menu for the week will have recommendations on how to store your meals when they turn up. Remember to check our Hot hints and tips! on a Thursday to see how I would reheat the meals for optimum quality!

Plastic containers? Whats the deal?

Your meals will arrive in plastic containers (similar to other takeaways!) but don't throw yours away! Our excellent volunteers (thanks Mum and Dad!) will wash your containers when you hand them back to us! Just remember to keep them handy for your next order for us to take back for us to be able to recycle and reuse again! If they are chipped/cracked just throw them away - as much as we are trying to reduce our food waste we do try to reduce our container waste too, at the moment these are the best tubs we can find for our needs but happy for suggestions!

I'm gluten free/vegan/dairy free? Can you still cater to me?

YES! With experience in allergens and dietary requirements we are happy to cater to your dietary needs, from vegan to low carb, we offer three dietary options as standard but if you need any other adjustments (e.g. normal meals but dairy free) give us an email and we can arrange this for your order.

It all sounds sweet! Hmm speaking of sweet... any desserts?

Aha! Well I'm glad you asked, we are offering sweet treats every other week for £1.50 a portion, catered to all categories of meals, this has ranged from chocolate coconut bites, flapjacks, banana bread, and even courgette cake!

What else do you do?

Not only do we create meals for anyone to order, we have also worked alongside other local groups such as Board in the City CIC, Touch Network, Action Hampshire, Solent NHS, our local Rotary and other CIC's for functions and lunches!

We also pride ourselves in our volunteers, the behind the scenes team chopping and slicing their way to ensure our meals are ready for you! We have also provided qualifications to two of our volunteers, with one of these volunteers moving up onto a Level 3 apprentiship scheme!
