Ms María Elena Quiroz

María is a doctoral researcher in Civil Engineering at City St George's, University of London, supervised by Dr. Miguel Bravo-Haro. Her research develops vibration-based, unsupervised, data-driven damage detection frameworks for complex infrastructure operating under varying environmental and operational conditions, such as wind turbine blades and bridges.

María completed her MSc at Universidad Técnica Federico Santa María, Chile, where her research focused on real-time hybrid simulation of structural systems with magnetorheological dampers under the supervision of Dr. Gastón Fermandois. She has published in leading journals including Structural Control and Health Monitoring, and presented her work at EWSHM, COMPDYN, and LATAMSHM. From August 2026, María is a Visiting Research Student at the University of Cambridge, working with Dr. Alice Cicirello on data-driven structural health monitoring and structural dynamics.
