Captivating Caitlin Clark
by Drew Duffy 3/20/23
The most entertaining college basketball player remaining in March Madness might be one that you are unfamiliar with. That is, unless you have been following the women’s side of the game for the past few years. I remember watching ESPN on February 2nd, and the Iowa Women's Basketball game came on against the Maryland Terrapins. I began to watch a few minutes, as I have an appreciation of the women’s game more than most my age. Immediately, Caitlin Clark made her presence known. Her dazzling ball handling, extensive shooting range, and for lack of a better term, her swagger, kept me watching for the entirety of the game. She made a fan of me that night. On the season, she is averaging: 26.8 PPG /7.3 RPG/ 8.6 APG and is going to be a unanimous First Team All American selection and may just be the 2023 Player of the Year. Her game is electric, and she is carrying the Iowa program to new heights in the Sweet 16. The team will go as far as she goes, and right now, there is no sign of let up for Caitlin Clark. She is truly must watch TV for all basketball fans this week with hopes of leading her team to an Elite Eight appearance, and ultimate goals of cutting down the nets in Dallas in a few weeks time.
Tune in, you won’t be disappointed.
