Quick Look at Cubs Pitchers in August of 2024 (cut off slightly on website)
Created a more context driven addition to the traditional WHIP statistic.
AWHIP combines FanGraphs weighted values and assigns them to pitcher's hits/walks against.
Ex. a bunt single and a home run are evaluated the same in traditional "WHIP".
Data from the 2023 season shows that avg AWHIP in 2023 was 1.939798 and the correlation between AWHIP and WHIP was .906
Data from the 2023 season also shows that the correlation is .173
