Aerial Assist was the 2014 FIRST Robotics Competition game, featuring over 2,700 teams competing globally. The primary objective involved two alliances of three teams each working together to score 2-foot diameter exercise balls into goals at the far end of the field. Points were earned not just for scoring, but significantly for collaboration, with bonuses awarded for passing the ball between robots and throwing it over a central truss. The match structure included a 10-second autonomous period followed by a tele-operated phase where human players and drivers took control.
