Our goal is to provide Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (STEM) opportunities to underserved and underrepresented populations of high school students in the Denver area.
Through designing and building a robot for competitions, we provide experience in mechanical engineering, computer programming, and business management. These skills inspire young people to be leaders in science and technology and prepare them for STEM-based careers.
We recruit and welcome robotics team members from all backgrounds and experience levels. Our members come from many different High Schools in the Denver area. Furthermore we host many different outreach events around Denver.
FIRST Robotics Competition (FRC) is an international program where high school students collaborate with professional mentors to build large-scale, industrial robots for a unique annual challenge. Beyond the thrill of the game, longitudinal studies show that FIRST participants are twice as likely to show gains in STEM interest and significantly more likely to major in computer science or engineering compared to their peers. These statistics highlight how the program creates a critical bridge to higher education, with over 75% of FIRST alumni currently specialized in a STEM field as a student or professional. By joining or sponsoring our team, you are investing in a proven pipeline that increases access to high-value skills and empowers the next generation of technical leaders.
Brute Force was founded in 2007 at DSST Montview High School. DSST Montview is a charter school aligned in providing underserved communities with access to stem opportunities. Since 2007 we have been building robots, competiting in competitions, and inspiring the future of STEM in Colorado and beyond!
In 2023 Brute Force participated in the Utah Regional and ended up winning the entire regional with a record of 15-3-0. This eventually led us to a birth at the world championship. Sadly we were not selected in an alliance at the world championship.
In 2025 Brute Force participated in the Northern Lights Regional. Similarly to 2023 we ended up winning with a record of 13-1-0. Thanks to this win we clinched a world championship berth. Sadly we didn't get picked for an alliance, yet again.
