Indications
Severe Pain (7-10)
High Heart Rate (Above 120HR)
Warnings
Do not administer if patient has a low HR.
Do not administer if patient has Kidney failure or has a history of hypersensitivity.
Dosage
10mg IV.
Route: IV
Onset of action: 2-5 minutes
Duration of action: 1-2 hours
Notes
Morphine is a Schedule 8 drug under the Poisons Act and its use must be carefully controlled with accountability and responsibility.
Side effects of Morphine can be reversed with Naloxone.
