Save your floating dock from a high tide or storm surge. Brilliant!

Many lost their dock when hurricane Sandy hit long island. Docks raised with the tide, over the poles and floated away. Sometimes with boats attached.

The video show how to save your dock! Let the floating dock raise your poles. Poles typically go 15-20 feet into the floor bed.

Filipino Mahjong Rules

I've been playing since I was a child but have never considered looking up other variations until last night. Then I discovered just how differently this game can be played. I've also never seen the terminology written out, so my apologies for spelling errors.Ruleset goes back to my great-grandparents who are from the Philippines.4 players. Shuffle tiles, and everyone builds a wall.I will skip explaining who goes first. But the person who is first is called mano. They are dealt the first 4x2 section of the wall. Sections are passed out counter clockwise. After everyone is dealt 16 tiles, the mano takes one tile from one end and as many tiles as they have flowers from the other end, for a total of 17 tiles. Players proceed to collect their flower tiles in a counter clockwise sequence, until they have no flowers and 16 tiles.The object of the game is to get a Mahjong, which is achieved by the following:At least one Set of 3 and at least one Run of 3, for a total of five of either. And one Pair.ORMahjong 7 Pair, which is 7 Pairs and a Run of 3.Mano is first to throw, or discard. Next player to the right draws and then throws, and so on. If a flower is drawn, then they draw from the other side and then discard. Any player can Pong a throw, which means taking the throw to complete a Set of 3. It is then laid out and revealed to the other players. Throw as usual. Pongs can make players skip their turns. A Ciao can be called by the player whose turn comes after the person who last threw. The player picks up the thrown tile to complete a Run of 3, which is then laid out and revealed to the other players. You can call Paningit if the thrown tile goes in the middle of your run. Throw as usual.Now for the plays that pay:Kong is called when anyone throws a tile that completes your hidden Set of 3. Reveal your set, draw from the flower side, then throw as usual. You can also call Kong if the player right before you throws the 4th tile in your revealed set. Kongs pay 25¢.If you have a hidden Set of 3 and draw the 4th, lay the set face down and call Secret. Draw from the flower side. Throw as usual. Secrets pay 50¢.If you are dealt no flowers, that pays $1.If a player throws the last tile you need, call Mahjong, which pays $1. You have won.If you draw the last tile you need, call Bunot, which pays $2. You have won.If you Bunot 7 Pair, that pays $3.Winners also get paid 5¢ for every flower they have.And that's how my family has played Mahjong for the past 90 years or so. Hope y'all enjoyed!
