Project:2D to3D NOTES , Questions WHich AI platform, New Win 11 Computer Purchase
Wondering how you would approach the following task.

Design a system to take a 2D photo (B/W or color) and convert to 3D for CNC carving and/or 3D printing. The output is to be both positive and negative (Hollow Face) for both my Bambu P1S and my OneFinity

HARDWARE

Cyber Monday I am buying a new Win 11 PC Gaming Desktop .

The PC will output to my 1F and CO2 laser (Lightburn) and meant for heavy AI

It will be running multiple programs at the same time

The PC will be minimum i7, multicore or possibly i9-0 A BEAST!

32-64 Ram

Stand alone Invidia Geforce 5060 or 5070. I believe these may be liquid cooled.

Min 6 cooling fans

Software for 2D to 3D best sited for converting 2D - 3D conversion

AI - Options 

1- CarvecoMaker

I can purchase monthly Carveco for AI modeling 

2- Or buy a stand alone AI  2D-3D program ADOBE FIREFLY

3- Or an AI program suited for graphics probably a competitor to Chat GPT plus (20 a month).

Mitz: I know you like/prefer Carveco and Maker is included. Would you suggest that I switch to it from Vectric. This will take relearning but if it i easier to switch a 3d file from positive to negative I'll do it. Your thoughts are greatly appreciated. 

Also export capabilities. Is one program better suited for my purposes.

Please confirm my general understanding:

A 2D to 3D conversion creates a series of points in X,Y,Z delineating the surface.

This is the STL file

A- Importing this into Vetric/Carveco will add the file as a positive with the back on the surface of the material.

I could then invert Z to make it a negative (Hollow Face).

B- Importing this into Bambu studio will have the face on the platen (Positive image). If necessary Bambu studio will create supports.

I could then create a primitive shape, Rectangular Solid, and add it as a negative component.

IMPORTANT: I expect it may be easier to do the conversions in one program. For example I could use Carveco Maker to do the 2D-3D and then make positives and negatives which could directly be imported into Bambu P1S
