Merle

Merle is a recessive, uncommon marking that creates a pale and heavily desaturated blanket over the dracovix's body, then large and small "holes" are cut out of the blanket, revealing the markings and base coat beneath. The large holes can chop up the marking so much that it acts like Tobiano or consists only of concavely cut smaller patches of the marking scattered about.
The difference between Merle and Roan is that Merle must be heavily desaturated, like Axanthic, and visibly paler than the base coat while Roan only has to be a little bit paler than the base coat at minimum, and Merle allows for very large holes to the point of behaving like Tobiano or Spots, while the holes in Roan are very small. Merle may also be placed all around the whole body and broken up into a few pieces, while Roan is restricted to starting at the back and spreading outwards.
Merle must be at least an area as big as the dracovix's head or as big as the entire body.
Merle should be visibly paler and more desaturated than the base coat, but shouldn't be so high contrast as to read as white or off-white unless the base coat is already Silk or a very pale Axanthic base coat.
Merle may have a faint salt-and-pepper-like speckling texture to it.
